SDSA warns overloaded vehicles plying NH-2

Concerned by the menace of overloading of vehicles plying along the National Highway, the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA) has urged drivers and owners of vehicle to strictly abide by the Supreme Court’s and ply their vehicles within the permissible limits i.e., 9 tons for 6 tyre vehicles and 15 tons for 10 tyres vehicle.
The SDSA in a press note stated that it realized “the seriousness of the menace of overloading of vehicles” which it stated results in “potholes (and) badly damages the precious road infrastructure, incurring huge expenses on the exchequer to maintain the roads and increasing number of road accidents along the National Highway – 2, the lifeline of Manipur.”
